Day 95: Weights

– Target 6-8 reps

Tuesday is hit the weights day. I got a set of $25 weights last year thinking I can do some exercises at home. But it is difficult the find the right time and space to do it. And after the exercise, the room always smells funky. It is much better to do weights in the gym. There are many equipment available targeting all the muscle groups. A gym membership is the best investment for your body.

I read if you want to lose weight, you should do 10-12 repetitions. However if I want to gain muscle mass, I should find a weight that I can do 6-8 repetitions. This is what I will aim for next week, find that weight.

Day 94: Roar!

-Be a Polar Bear, strong and Swift.

Monday is swim day. Feels great to get into the water in the morning. Got the whole lane all to myself because there are not many people in the pool. There are four main swimming strokes: front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke, and the butterfly. My goal is swim longer and learn and improve all of the strokes. Need more practice, practice makes perfect.

No push ups tomorrow, going to savor the moment.

Success like many things in life is relative and subjective. In order to define success, we need two points, where we are now and where success is located. However, everybody define success a little differently. Success might be earning a lot of money for some, but some might just want to have a family. Whatever it is, I think the most important thing is knowing what you want and setting a goal and a plan to reach it.

After going to the gym last week, I feel more energetic and sleeping better. I fall immediately to sleep when I reach the bed. I think this is going to be my exercise routine for the mean time:

Monday – Swimming

Tuesday – Weights

Wednesday – Running and Ab Exercises

Thursday – Weights

Friday – Cycling

Saturday – Free Day

Sunday – Free Day

Day 92: Economics

-Diablo Economics

So I have been playing this game called Diablo for a while. It has an auction house where players can sell and buy virtual items such as weapons and armors from each other. You can find items in the game and sell them, a very interesting concept. So theoretically, the rarer an item is, the more it can fetch you. The value will be determined by the invisible hand. I made my first sell last week for $2.50. Blizzard, the game maker takes $1.00 transaction fee and 15% for transferring the fund to Paypal. So I got $1.20 for the item. This is a very interesting money making scheme for Blizzard. Very very interesting. If I spend this much time looking for another job instead of playing and thinking about this game, I would have find it already.

Day 91: Arguments

Suck!

I don’t like arguments. I had an argument with Alan yesterday. Not really an argument, it was just me waiting for him, something very small. But I hate waiting. I can be short tempered and mean sometimes. But I am learning how to handle things like this. Stay calm. If I don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything. I feel very bad to start the weekend off this way. I apologized to him and we are back to our regular selves. I hope he is not holding any grudges.

Day 90: Sun

– Setting

Doing this blog made me think more about life, asking myself a lot of questions. What do I want? What makes me happy? What is important? What happens in the end?

It is just mind boggling to think that one day I will not be able to think about these questions. A little scared, sad, and maybe a little relieved that one day I will not be here any more. This makes me ask what I want to leave behind. What is after this? I don’t know, but I know this is my reality for now and I might as well enjoy the ride.

Day 89: ted

-The bear every boy wants

I went to see ted with my sister and my pal Alan on 4th of July. It was a great laugh and we had a fun time. The movie is directed by Seth MacFarlane the same guy who makes Family Guy. So if you like Family Guy, you probably want to see this. This is definitely Family Guy humor, very inappropriate but hilarious. So maybe don’t bring your kids to this one. And of course, Mark Wahlburg and Mila Kunis are also awesome in the movie.
